On the third
of Jully, 987 in Noyon, France, Hugues
Capet (938-996) ascended to the throne of
France. Son of Hugues the Great, Count of
Paris and Duke of France, Hugues Capet was
the founder of the Capetienne Dynasty.
It is only
fitting that a thousand years after his
death, an association, a literary prize,
and henceforth, an internet site devoted
to his prestigious descendants should
carry his name maintain the memory of the
world of yesterday and of a family, the
Capetienne Dynasty, who reigned over
France and part of Europe for over nine
centuries.
The goal of
this site which was created in October
2000 is to aquaint you with the royal
tradition of the French kings of
yesterday, but even more so, to discover
the Capetien princes of today.
Don't hesitate
to browse all of the links, from the
presentation by the United Association of
Capets, the Hugues Capet Literary Prize,
the genealogy of the Kings of France, to
the Royal Library, without forgetting of
course the newspaper articles and photos
or the other hundreds of documents
awaiting you ....all set to
music.
We thank you
for your visit and hope that you found
your time with us pleasant.
God bless
you...
