The 6th anniversary of
the United Association of Capets, held in honor of the
Duchess of Castro, wife of the head of the royal
Deux-Siciles family, was held June 13, 2000 on the
Champs-Elysees. In his welcoming speech, Jacque-Henri
Auclair warmly thanked the numerous well known international
personalities before he offered several gifts from the
United Association of Capets to the Duchess of
Castro.
All of the women were
delighted to receive Pierre Cardin perfume and a rose, and
for the princesses, a spray of roses. The princes received
selected biographies tracing the ancestry of the kings of
France.
After cocktails on the
terrace in the warmth of the summer's eve, an orchestra
accompanied the dinner for the Duchess of Castro and her
daughters Princess Beatrice and Anne of Bourbon-Siciles.
During dessert, the princess and virtuosa Caroline Murat,
along with the other two hundred and fifty other guests
shared in the enjoyment of a marvelous thirty minute piano
Chopin recital. A drawing for a wildlife painting by the
talented Duchess of Castro was won by Princess Constance of
Bouron-Parme.
It was around one o'clock
in the morning that the ever younger crowd ended the
evening, happy to have attended such a prestigous and
refined evening dedicated to the royal French
tradition.
