On the 7 february 2005, 300 people attended the now traditional award of the Hugues Capet Prize, taking place at the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée in Paris. Jean-Pierre Thomas was celebrated for his outstanding opus, "Le Régent et le cardinal Dubois", published by Editions PAYOT. The atmosphere of this prestigious evening, chaired by H.R.H. the Princesse Béatrice de Bourbon-Siciles was extremely friendly and gathered socialites and arts personalities.

After the welcome speech by Minister Pierre-Christian Taittinger and President Jacques-Henri Auclair, H.R.H. Prince Remy de Bourbon-Parme read a message from H.R.H. Prince Charles de Bourbon-Siciles, Duc de Calabre, Grand Prefer of the Constantinian Order of Saint-Georges, warmly congratulating Jean-Pierre Thomas.
 
Then, H.R.H. Beatrice de Bourbon-Siciles spoke about how she enjoyed reading this fantastic biography written by the historian Jean-Pierre Thomas and then she handed the 2004 Hugues Capet Prize diploma to the happy laureate, under the applause of the three hundred guests and numerous photographs of Press. Then the winner Jean-Pierre Thomas charmed the brilliant attendance by wonderful stories about the Régent's life. Finally the Director of Editions Payot, concluded this ceremony, emphasizing the pride and joy he took, as a publisher, to receive the Hugues Capet Prize.
 

In addition to the people already mentioned, the brilliant attendance included : H.R.H. the Princesse Anne of Bourbon-Siciles, H.R.H. the Princesse Chantal of Bourbon-Parme, H.R.H. the Prince Fayçal Bey of Tunisie,H.R.H. the Princesse Nesrine Toussoun of Egyptia, H.R.I. the Princesse Vin-Thuÿ, H.R.I. the Prince Sélim of Turquie, the Princesse Charnaz Hechmati, Jean-Chrsitian petitfils, Vladimir Volkoff, Philippe de Saint-Robert, the Professeur Cabrol, Bertrand Galimard, countesse Eléonore de la Rochefoucauld, counte François d'Ormesson, Lady Nancy Chopard, countesse Frémy and Pierre Pujo.
