SOIREE HUGUES CAPET 2004

AU CERCLE DE L'UNION INTERALLIEE

24 NOVEMBRE 2004

Many A-list guests, as usual, attended the gala in hour of the 10-year anniversary of the Hugues Capet Prize, on 24 November 2004, at the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée.

During the deliberations of the jury, chaired by H.R.H Princesse Beatrice de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles, the conversations were very lively and the notorious members of the jury, after an hour and fourty five minutes and five polls, decided to reward Jean-Pierre Thomas for his excellente opus, "the Regent and the Cardinal Dubois", published by Payot

et de S.A.R. le Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orléans, membre du jury Hugues Capet

It was a very beautiful party, attendants of which included: H.R.H Princess Béatrice de Bourbon-Siciles, H.R.H Princess Anne de Bourbon-Siciles, H.R.H Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orléans, H.R.H Princess Marina de Bourbon-Parme, H.R.H Prince Fayçal Bey de Tunisie, H.I.H Prince Sélim de Turquie, H.I.H Princess Nesrine Toussoun d'Egypte, H.R.I Princess Vin-Thuÿ, Professeur Cabrol, Maître Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr, Baron and Baronness Grouvel, Georges Bordonove, Jean-Christian-Petitfils, Jean Sévillia, Eve de Castro, Eve Ruggiéri, Monique Raimond, Vladimir Volkoff, Lily Sarran, Lady Nancy Chopard, Daniel et Céline Harland, Massimo Gargia, Countess Sonia Poniatowski and Brigitte de Diesbach

After the press cocktail and the announcement of the 2004 award winner by H.R.H Princess Beatrice de Bourbon-Siciles, Jean-Pierre Thomas said in a statement the pleasure he had to be awarded this presitigous prize. Then, the guests made their way to the dining room where President Jacques-Henri Auclair could remind them of his memories of the Prize, since its creation in 1994. A particularly lively and friendly atmosphere, as well as a delicious dinner, contributed greatly to the success of this beautiful party, which will remain in everyone's memories for long

The traditional raffle, in favour of disabled children, was then held by Maitre Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr and Jacques-Henri Auclair. Winners were Madame Férid Fetni (the very elegant, numbered CARTIER "stylo-loupe"), Françoise de Boisfleury (the fantastic CARVEN watch), H.R.H Princess Marina de Bourbon-Parme (the pearl-necklace offered by high jewelry designer François Berthelin), and Count Michel Gaudard de Soulages (a stay in the best five-satr hotel in Djerba, Tunisia).

Thanks to the kindness of Daniel Harlant, owner of Carven, and his son Alexandre, all the guests of this brilliant party were generously offered Ness fragrances. The same guests will get together again at the end of January, at a party to be thrown in honour of historian Jean-Pierre Thomas and chaired by H.R.H Prince Charles de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles, Duc de Calabre and Grand Prefet of the Sacred and Military Constantinian Order of Saint-Georges
