Around 100 people have attended in Paris, at Residence Maxim's, the
remarkable conference by Professeur Jean Favier, Prix Hugues Capet 2001,
about King Louis XI.
Louis XI was a king whose main objective was to ensure France's political
and economical independence and to strengthen the King's
powers.
Professeur Jean Favier, a member of Institut de France, Grand Officier de
l'Ordre de la Legion d'Honneur, former Head of Archives de France, former
President of French Bibliotheque Nationale and Chairman of the French
Committee for UNESCO, held an extremely interesting conference.
As usual after each conference organised by Association Unite Capetienne,
the conference was followed by a very friendly cocktail party...
