More than 400 people gave appointment on January 30 2001 to the Maxim's Résidence of Paris for the official handing-over of the Price Hugues Capet 2000, to Aime Richardt for its excellent work the Le Soleil du Grand Siècle published with the Tallandier editions.

Madam Countess of Paris being retained out of France, it was her grandson S.A.R. The Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orléans who gave to the laureate the traditional diploma Hugues Capet under the applause of Pierre Cardin, guest of the place and new member of the jury of the Price Hugues Capet.

S.A.R. the Prince Remy of Bourbon-Parme read to the microphone a communicate of his cousin S.A.R. the Prince Charles of Bourbon-Siciles Duke of Calabria which, in the name of Sacring and Military Constantinien Order of Saint-Georges (the oldest order of knighthood of Christendom), rewarded Aime Richardt with a cheque of 10.000 FF.

Charles Dubuis, vice-president of the Coutts Bank of Geneva, new and prestigious partner of the Price Hugues Capet, and his assistant Michaël Wilde, rewarded as for them the prizewinner of the year with a cheque of 25.000 FF. (The Coutts Bank being not only bankers of the Queen of England but also those of all the great french and international Aristocracy).

Finally Mrs Benedicte de Piédoüe, director of the Internet site www.chateauxcountry.com and the Count Anne-Charles de Gontaud Biron, offered to the laureate one weekend in the marvellous Castle of Courtalain, property of the Family Gontaud Biron.

In front of this assembly made by members of the gotha, larger French historians and very many personalities, Jacques-Henri Auclair in his speech, insisted on the pleasure he still had with this one time, the Price Hugues Capet is given not only has a large historian, but also has a man with great human qualities.

And like each year, the cocktail finished very late in evening in a particulary cordial environment with the Maxim's champagne and with delicious small furnaces of the delicatessen Marine Reception...
