The ceremony for the 1996 literary prize, the "Hugues Capet" was held at Maxim's where the "who's who" of Paris honored Jean-Francois Chiappe, author of the remarkable book, "Louis XV" (published by Editions Perrin). After receiving his Baccarat award from the Countess of Paris, Pierre Cardin et Jacque-Henri Auclair the laureate gave a passionate speech about the French monarchy which was given a standing ovation by Prince and Princess Sixte-Henri, Remy, Charles-Emmanuel and Constance of Bourbon-Parme, Beatrice and Anne of Bourbon-Siciles, Chantal and Claude of France and Alain Decaux, Andre Castelot, Professor Cabrol, Professor Tulard and many other personalities. |
